Update on Revised Organisation Registration requirements for Training Providers

Further information on arrangements for CET activities during Circuit Breaker from 19 May to 1 June 2020

19 May 2020

Dear Training Providers (“TPs”)

Following the Multi-Ministry Taskforce’s announcement on 2 May 2020 on progressive easing of the Circuit Breaker measures, we would like to provide further information to you regarding the arrangements for Continuing Education and Training (CET) activities. This is for strict compliance by all CET providers.

Status quo for delivery of CET until the end of Circuit Breaker

2.         From now until 1 June 2020 (inclusive), TPs who had not previously received approval from SSG to conduct in-person training shall continue to suspend all in-person training or seek approval to deliver courses in e-learning mode only. TPs should continue to adhere to the measures in SSG’s circular issued on 10 April 2020 on “Details on Additional Measures to Ensure Social Distancing for CET in Response to COVID-19”, and subsequent circular issued on 14 April 2020 on “Further information on Additional Measures to Ensure Social Distancing for CET in Response to COVID-19 and the Conduct of E-learning courses”.

3.         Further updates on the delivery of CET after Circuit Breaker will be provided at a later date.

Pre-approved digital solutions under Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG)

4.         With reference to announcement by IMDA and ESG on 15 May 2020, the suite of pre-approved digital solutions has been expanded to help Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the education and training sectors manage the impact of COVID-19. These pre-approved solutions under the SMEs Go Digital programme qualify for up to 80% subsidy from the Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG) until 31 December 2020. For more information, you may visit Tech Depot on the SME portal (https://www.smeportal.sg/content/tech-depot/en/home.html)

For strict compliance by Training Providers

5.         TPs are required to strictly comply with national COVID-19 measures and all additional measures stipulated by SSG. Failure to comply with SSG’s directions may be taken as a violation of the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations with its attendant penalties. TPs may also be subject to additional SSG actions, e.g. termination of registration status or suspension of SSG funding.

6.         For any clarifications, you may contact SSG’s hotline at 6785 5785 or log a case via the Feedback Portal at https://portal.ssg-wsg.gov.sg/feedback.

Thank you.
